“It is with great pleasure that we announce the promotion of Rohit Deo, Professor of Statistics and Operations Research and Robert Miller Faculty Fellow, to Vice Dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs and Strategic Planning, effective September 1, 2013. Rohit has excelled in his position as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs, and has taken on additional operational responsibilities pertaining to undergraduate admissions, financial aid and budget strategies.

For the past two years Rohit has worked closely with Stern faculty to oversee the undergraduate curriculum in our New York City location, as well as across NYU’s Global Network, ensuring academic excellence for Stern’s more than 2500 undergraduate students around the world. He has overseen the launch of the Undergraduate College’s newest curricular innovation, interdisciplinary academic Tracks, as well as worked with the faculty on important undergraduate academic policies. Rohit also brings nearly 20 years of experience as a researcher and educator to his new role. His primary research areas include econometric models and time series analysis. His leadership as a scholar, which includes associate editorships at the Journal of the American Statistical Association and the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, earned him the respect of faculty at Stern and beyond. We have no doubt that Rohit will continue to help drive the undergraduate academic experience to new heights.

Please join us in thanking Rohit for taking on this new role as we celebrate the continued success of Stern’s Undergraduate College.”

With all good wishes,
